Is ATRT intrusive to the SUT, i.e. does it need hooks into the SUT?

elfriede dustin ATRT is non-intrusive to the SUT, no hooks into the code of the SUT are required.
ATRT uses VNC Technology and ATRT itself behaves as a VNCClient and only requires a VNCServer to connect to.
